DC Rape Crisis Center presents its groups and workshops for healing and support:
Campus Connections: Starting December 13th
A DCRCC virtual support group for all genders 18 years or older who experienced sexual violence while a student in college. This 10-week support group will facilitate discussions on the impact of sexual assault while in University, safety, self-care, relationships, and more. Participants who have graduated college are eligible to participate in this group. Prior therapy experience is not required. Please be aware that an intake is required for determining group readiness before participation can be confirmed. The deadline to complete intake is December 1st, 2022.
Experiences of Healing: Starting December 15th
Virtual support group, open to all genders over the age of 18 who have experienced sexual abuse as a child. This 14-week support group will facilitate the exploration of the different aspects of the healing process while developing tools to better cope with the impact of trauma. Prior counseling experience is not required to participate. Please be aware that an intake is required for determining group readiness before participation can be confirmed. The deadline to complete an intake is December 1st, 2022.
Secondary Survivor Workshops: Starting December 5th
Virtual support workshop, open to all genders over the age of 18 who are in a relationship (partner, parent, family, or friends) with someone who has experienced trauma as a child or adult. This three-week workshop will facilitate the development of tools and skills to better support their survivors in their healing journey. In this workshop, we will learn how to support survivors through a survivor-centered and trauma-informed lens. Please be aware that an intake is required for determining group readiness before partiic[ation can be confirmed. The deadline to complete an intake is November 23rd, 2022.
*To apply to a group or workshop you will need to have an intake and group assessment completed within the last 12 months, if unsure about the last time you completed an intake, contact Sabrina Roc at 202-470-1188. If you have an up-to-date intake assessment, simply reply to this email stating which group(s) you are interested in being considered by December 1, 2022.
